PADI Openwater Diver Course
|
This is the entry level or beginner course that gives the
student a full certification to Scuba dive anywhere in the world.
The course runs one night a week for five weeks and is taught in a relaxed
fun manner. They are held on either Mondays or Thursdays in the evenings
at 6:oo pm. and last 5 hours. The evening is split into two parts, academic
and water training. The academic portion is held at the Dive Center and
the water training portion is held at the Massachusetts Maritime Academys
swimming pool. |

PADI Dry Suit Diver Course
The PADI Dry Suit Diver course consists of the following:
One class session
One confined water session
Two open water dives
The student must be a certified diver and provide their own personal dive
equipment.
Dry Suits are not provided but can be rented depending on availability.
The cost is $200.00 which includes the book and training sessions.
The course covers the following material:
1. The planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards
of dry suit diving.
2. Proper procedures for buoyancy control.
3. Ascent and descent training.
4. Routine, user level, preventative maintenance and performance check
on dry suits.

Discover Scuba Diving
The Discover Scuba Diving program is a controlled in water experience
run by professional PADI Open Water
Scuba Instructors designed to introduce a non-diver to the underwater world.
COST: $50.00
The program consists of::
An orientation to the equipment needed to Scuba Dive
An orientation to the procedures needed to Scuba Dive
An in water experience in the pool with Scuba equipment.

PADI Equipment Specialist
Course
This course is designed to give the diver a better understanding of
the function and performance of the standard dive equipment. It will cover
pre-dive set up, how it operates, post dive cleaning and care, and preventative
and routine maintenance. The course is a three night format with the students
getting hands on with some of their own equipment. This is not a course
to tear down and rebuild regulators. That is done by certified technicians.
Prerequisites Open Water Diver or above
Cost - $100.00/ includes manual
Additional required materials PADI Encyclopedia of Recreational
Diving
Specific areas to be covered:
Setting up a save a dive kit
Mask, snorkel, and fin care and maintenance
Regulator function, cleaning and maintenance
BCD care and maintenance
Weight system use, care and maintenance
Light and camera care and maintenance
Gauge and console care and maintenance
Computer care and maintenance
Exposure suit principles, care and maintenance

PADI ICE DIVER COURSE
This course is designed to provide the student with the knowledge and
skills to assess, plan, and execute an ice dive in a safe and efficient
manner. The course meets the needs of both the professional and recreational
diver. The course specifically addresses the specialty equipment needed,
the environmental conditions including weather and ice formation, hypothermia
concerns, overhead environment diving, safety diving, and line tending.
The student diver will also learn to cut prep, and maintain a proper hole
to enter and exit the water.
The course consists of one academic session, and four open water sessions.
Prerequisites 1. The student must have
a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Certification or equivalent.
2. The student must have a PADI Dry Suit Diver Certification or equivalent.
Cost - $ 350.00 - FULL
payment due at sign up
Included Ice Diver Manual, academic session,
all open water sessions, and use of
all specific ice diving equipment.
Not- Included Personal dive equipment,
cooler for warm water, and sled.
